It has been crazy in my life in the last two weeks, unfortunately not so much in the world of Committed, but I have made some head way towards getting Committed finally approved for publishing!
I am still waiting for my editor to complete editing the latest changes to the manuscript, but I have been told he should be done by early next month, so I am very hopeful to get the final approval done by the middle of October!
I am traveling to the West Coast the first week of November to go talk about my book with a chapter at Berkley, and hopefully with the director of their Greek Program as well, if he ever responds to my requests for a meeting. I am also currently looking for other universities or chapters who would like to have me come present and/or hold a workshop for them. Please email me if you would like me to come to you!
On the Sorority edition.
I am blasting through this manuscript much faster then I thought possible! I have almost completed the chapter on Life Lessons, and I have most of If Chanel ran Formal Recruitment. I also presented the basic concepts to the Panhellenic Council last week, and got a very good response. I will be following up with a few of the sororities here in Maine to try and hold a few focus groups so I can make sure my ideas are actually going to work for Sororities! I am also still looking for a sorority woman to write a survival guide to formal recruitment. If interested please email me.
Well back to writing.

Weekly Update on Committed
This week has been pretty quiet in regards to Committed to Excellence.
My original manuscript is still being edited, and I hope to get it back some point this month so then I can officially approve the book for distribution and ultimately start selling this book through Createspace.com and Amazon.com.
As far as Committed:Sorority Edition goes:
I have been cranking out chapters like it's my job. I have finished mapping out the book, and have started the nitty gritty research aspect of the book. Unfortunately this past week has been Formal Recruitment at the University of Maine, so I have not been able to talk with any of the sorority sisters about setting up some focus groups. Hopefully I can start these next month, once the stress of Formal Recruitment has blown over.
On a more positive note, I have finished designing one of my new favorite chapters. Life Lessons From... This is only a working title, but the concept is solid. I have found four women that I feel represent everything an alpha sorority woman should be. Two of these women are designers, the other two are characters from pop culture. Despite only two of them being real life people, all four of them have very important lessons to teach. I chose: Coco Chanel, Kate Spade, Elle Woods, and Bree VanderCamp. Four very different women, but all share one thing in common. They are all fabulously fierce in their own ways.
I have also received confirmation that one of my guest writers is currently working very hard on her Rho Gamma Survival guide to Formal Recruitment! I am still looking for another guest writer for the Sister's Survival Guide to Formal Recruitment, if anyone is interested please contact me!
Some of the new additions to this plan include: Finding your Inter Greek Goddess, A Chanel Approach to Formal Recruitment, Lady-Like Behavior, Not So Secret Sisters, and a Sister Development Guide.
I am very excited to finish this book, as I think it is going to be a lot more fun then my first book, but just as educational!
More to come to stay tuned.

New Address and New Purpose
Welcome to the new and improved Committed To Excellence Blog!
Thank you for making the switch to the new address for the Committed Blog. It has been awhile since I have written a blog entry and I apologize for that. Life got really crazy there for a little while, but I am finally back in the blogging saddle and have lots of exciting things to share.
First I would like to announce that Committed To Excellence has been completed! And has been submitted to my publishing company. I am currently working with an editor to put the finishing touches on the manuscript, and hope to have it approved for distribution by the end of the month.
The second awesome thing I would like to announce is I have started the second book in the Committed Program. Committed to Excellence: Sorority Edition. I will be sharing more on this in later posts.
The third thing I wanted to announce is that I am working on an extremely exciting program at my University called Gamma Lambda Beta Tau: Sexual diversity in Greek Life. This is a program that I have been slowly developing over the past 3 years, and it is finally getting off the ground. I will be again sharing more about this in later posts.
The last thing I have to announce is I am starting my book tour/ Committed Workshop talks this semester! I will be announcing my schedule as it is developed. I will be focusing on chapters of my fraternity, but I am trying to get some Greek Life organizations to host a campus workshop as well! Each workshop I will be doing will be either about one of the three phases: Internal Foundations, External Relations, Awesomeness. Or will be about a certain topic such as etiquette, PR, Fundraising or Recruitment. If you would like me to come to your chapter or school contact me and we will work out the details.
Again thank you for finding your way to my new blog address, I hope to hear from you soon!
